Moving to Phoenix AZ and the Weather…
If you are Moving to Phoenix Arizona, you may be thinking one of two things..”I Am Looking Forward To The Warmer Weather” or “How Hot Does it Get in Phoenix”???
I am a Relocatee from New England and I moved here for the same reason half of the Arizona Population did…THE WEATHER!!! Tired of the Snow Storms and Freezing Rain…scraping the windshields…getting gas while my fingers froze…I said I was Done With That!!! Gave away my ice scraper and shovel, donated my gloves and earmuffs and moved on the the Sunny Side of Life.
Well it was Sunny Alright! Moved in May of 2004 and it was getting HOT! That summer it got over 120 degrees and I didn’t know what to do with myself…other than stay anywhere there was A/C! That was a Hot one. I thought, what did I do???
Since then I have adjusted…so well that if it is 70 degrees, I find myself to be a little cold. Yes I said that! It’s amazing how your body acclimates to the weather! Don’t get me wrong here…to be honest, the weather in Phoenix Arizona is amazing 9 months out of the year. The other 3 months, make sure your A/C is working great, do a lot of indoor activities and drink plenty of water. Some people complain in Arizona about how humid it is…those are the Arizonans (the Locals), but they have never felt the Summer Humidity in some other states.
All in All…Moving to Phoenix, I gave up about 4 months of Freezing my butt off and Snow, and about 3 months of Heat and HUMIDITY. I am NOT complaining!!! Especially when I get to drive around and see Palm Trees, Cacti and Mountains everywhere I go! It’s a good life!
